The problem

Tower defense is normally single-player and turn-paced. Making it real-time and competitive means two players' builds and waves have to stay in lockstep across a network, with no room for the client to be authoritative about what died.

The approach

Built in Unity with Photon Fusion for networking, so tower placement, wave spawning, and combat resolution are simulated authoritatively and replicated to both players. The build ships to the browser as WebGL through the AarcadeGh$t arcade, which supplies the wallet session and the cartridge save layer, so progression persists between sessions without the game owning an account system.

Outcome

Playable in the browser at gotchiguardians.com and in the arcade catalogue, with health, inventory, and run progress persisted through the cartridge system.
